Highlights of the year include celebrating Young’s history with the Lambing Flat Festival in April, the National Cherry Festival in Early December, cherries are available from mid November through to late December followed by the stonefruit season continuing until the end of March.

Young is one of NSW renowned wheat cattle and sheep farming area. Young is centrally located in the ‘Hilltops’ Wine and Food region, recognised for producing quality cool climate wines. Cellar doors are open, offering the opportunity to taste and purchase fine wines and quality produce. Young also offers unique attractions (the gardens at China-mans Dam is a must see) and wide range of accommodation, cafés and restaurants that suits the needs and tastes of every budget.
